Chris was born in Edmond, Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 and a Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 2005. Chris became a Certified Public Accountant in 2007 and received his Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law and was licensed to practice law in Oklahoma in 2008. Chris was admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court in 2010.
The Oklahoma Bar Association recognized Chris’s professional achievements by selecting him as a member of the 2009-2010 Leadership Academy Class seeking to develop young lawyers’ leadership abilities. Also, Chris has been selected by the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants as a 2010 Trailblazer, an OSCPA member who is under 40 or has five or fewer years of CPA experience, recognizing innovation, professional dedication, and community commitment. In 2012, OKC BIZ recognized Chris as a member of its Forty Under 40 honorees. OKC BIZ has recognized Central Oklahoma’s top young leaders for professional accomplishments, charitable contributions, and commitment to the community.
Chris received an AV Preeminent Overall Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubble in the area of Taxation, Trusts and Estates, and Wills and Probate. This is the highest peer review rating for general ethical standards and legal abilities.
Before establishing his own firm, Chris spent 8 years with Burnett & Brown, P.L.L.C. practicing in substantially the same areas of law he practices today. While attending law school and prior to joining his former firm, Chris worked in the corporate tax department of a local Fortune 500 Oil & Gas Company focusing on tax compliance and IRS audits. Currently, his law practice focuses on Estate & Gift Tax Compliance and Planning, Business Formation and Planning, and Tax Planning. Chris also actively utilizes his CPA designation in offering his clients bookkeeping, payroll, payroll tax reporting, income tax reporting, and tax audit representation through Papin CPA, PLLC. Also, Chris supplements his Estate Planning practice through the customized use of insurance planning through Papin Insurance, LLC.
Chris is a member of the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma County Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association, Oklahoma City University Alumni Association, a Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation and a Board Member Epworth Villa a local non-profit continuing care retirement facility.
Chris was a soccer player growing up and has continued his passion for soccer by organizing and coaching the Deer Creek Middle School soccer program since 2021 as a volunteer and loyal Deer Creek Alum.
