To ensure timely credit, it is recommended to complete the Wyoming Ethics course before August 31st, 2024, as that is the expiration date for the course.
This 4-hour course is designed to meet the 4-hour ethics CPE requirement for Wyoming CPAs.
It provides an overview of ethical thought along with the core values of the CPA profession and the application of these values to ethical reasoning. Wyoming Board Rules of Professional Conduct, Firm Permits, Continuing Professional Education, and Peer Review are covered in detail. The Wyoming Certified Public Accountants Act of 2005 as it relates to discipline is reviewed.
In addition to covering the Wyoming Statutes and Board Rules and meeting the Wyoming Board's requirements, the course covers the areas of independence, integrity, and objectivity, and it is designed to provide the CPA with a guide for identifying, evaluating, and dealing with ethical dilemmas as well as giving guidance on the laws, rules, and regulations that govern the CPA profession and the practical application of these rules in the daily operation of their businesses.
The AICPA Code of Professional Conduct is also covered in detail. Case studies and summaries of Wyoming disciplinary actions are utilized throughout the course to emphasize the subject matter.
