Online renewal may require you to upload your CPE certificates of completion. If you are not liable to upload your certificates of completion, you should keep your copies in case the board performs an audit of your CPE, you will be responsible for submitting copies of your certificates of completion and/or verification of courses at the time of the audit. You must retain your documentation for at least five (5) years from the date the program was completed.

Yes, Alabama State Board allows a maximum of 10 CPE hours from courses completed via nano learning method to count towards AL CPE requirements.

A registrant must report, at a minimum, the CPE hours required for the registration renewal period. Hours that exceed the number required for the current registration renewal period may not be carried forward to a subsequent registration renewal period.

You are in non-compliance if you do not complete at least 40 hours of acceptable CPE by September 30th. A licensee who does not earn sufficient qualifying hours during the continuing education period may be allowed to renew a license upon reporting 40 qualifying hours. The CPA is also liable to pay late renewal fees of $100 if the deficiency is fulfilled up to December 31 and $500 if the deficiency is fulfilled up to February 28.
