Course Description

Internal and external audits have different purposes. Internal audits review items such as the effectiveness of an organization's safeguards against fraud and corruption, whereas external audits often focus on an organization's financial statements and whether that organization has followed all relevant laws and regulations. However, both internal and external audits can play a substantial role in detecting corruption.

The notion that auditing could reduce corruption has received considerable attention in both business and academia. This webinar is designed for an internal or external auditor, or company manager, who suspects corruption within their organization.

Key topics:

  • What are the red flags for corruption?
  • What audit or investigative procedures are appropriate in auditing for corruption?
  • What are the legal and ethical issues involved in a corruption audit or investigation?

This course is appropriate for CPAs, internal auditors, CIAs, external auditors, CMAs. CFEs, CGMAs, CFFs, CIAs, MAFFs, managers, staff accountants, CFOs, business managers, board members, and others who could be involved in auditing or investigating corruption.
