Course Description

Power BI is a great tool for building reports and dashboards against datasets of any size, but if you’re working with big data you need to make the right choices to be sure of getting good report performance. It's a known fact that raw data loaded into Power BI is hardly ever "report-ready" and requires "cleaning" to make it useable.

Unnecessary rows and columns need to be removed, data that isn't required needs to be filtered out, dates are never in the right format and often don't even date, columns require splitting or merging, and "weird" characters must be removed. These are just a few examples of what is meant by data cleaning.

A very useful presentation on how to more easily normalize data inside large data sets in Excel. No more using highly structured "mid( ) functions to split data in a column, or =concat( ) functions to join data. I highly recommend this course for accountants who rely on importing data from different sources into excel.
