Overview

The Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a credential for experienced payroll professionals. To qualify for CPP certification, candidates must have at least three years of payroll practice in the five years before taking the exam.

CPP professional RCH Requirement Overview:

  • 120 RCHs in 5 years.
  • No mandatory Ethics requirement.
  • 100% in Self-Study.
  • Reporting Cycle - Jan 1 of the year after recertification to Dec 31 of the fifth year after recertification.
  • No carry forward allowed. 
  • Courses must be from PayrollOrg (PAYO)-approved Providers.

  • January 1 of the year following recertification and ends on December 31 of the third year following recertification.

RCH Requirement :

  • 120 RCHs during the 5-year recertification period.

Ethics Requirements :

  • There is no minimum Ethics requirement for Certified Payroll Professional.

Carry Over Credits :

PayrollOrg (PAYO) does not allow Certified Payroll Professionals to carry excess RCH credits over from the previous reporting cycle.
