Course Description

Tax seasons are a busy time for accounting, tax, and finance professionals. While they are busy working on the numbers the news headlines of various natures continue to change the sentiment of the clients that they serve. Despite the long working hours, they are expected to answer a rush of queries based on the news items. Recently the story has similar headlines with some statistics that a large number of taxpayers may be concerned with.

Joshua "J. J. The CPA®️" Jenson, has come to the rescue in this critical situation with the required analysis and details to manage your balance between planned work and "new" client queries.

In this Nano learning course, J. J. the CPA is going to cover the statistics on more e-filings compared to the previous years, reductions in IRS refunds, and more hires by the IRS.

At this time, Nano-learning is not accepted by all state boards. If you are not sure whether your state board accepts Nano-learning, you can ask your state board or visit the NASBA registry.

Learning Objectives

  • To explore why the number of e-filed returns increase while the refunds decreased in 2023 compared to 2022

You’ve Never Met a CPA Quite Like Me! See for yourself!

Hard work deserves having the extras in life, which I learned at age 9 when I got my first job to buy Nike shoes.

I graduated high school a year early to escape my childhood. I put myself through college, also graduating that a year early, so I could start making real money.

Jumping off the cliff leaving the safety of employees, I started my own CPA practice at age 25, in accordance with my plan created with my late Grandad, Omar Abbott Slayter, CPA.

Over the last 25 years, my CPA practice has grown into exactly what I envisioned with my Grandad which is a boutique tax planning and preparation firm specializing in working with businesses and individuals in the service and real estate industries.

6 years ago, I started servicing my clients with their life and disability income insurance needs, growing that into separate practice.

In 2018, I became a national speaker for CPE Platforms presenting 25 tax seminars annually across the country to CPAs.

Now I write and present my own CPE around the U.S. and virtually to CPAs, EAs, and tax pros! And I love it!!

I published my first book in 2019 and have my own podcast, both called “JJ THE CPA Here.” In my book, I share the top 60 questions from clients over the last 27 years, and my answers, related to banking, insurance, business, and tax. My podcast is made up of discussions with fellow professionals on business matters.

I love motivating others, especially accounting students and CPA candidates to become CPAs.

In 2020, I will be publishing my 2nd book called “Cracking the CPA Code,” which will unlock the secret to successfully receiving referrals for those wanting a more profitable relationship with the CPA. I will present seminars to attorneys, investment advisors, insurance professionals, and bankers based on the book which will teach the special ways of building, maintaining, and growing professional relationships with CPAs.

In 2020, in an effort to quickly get information to my own clients, I created YouTube videos to share how to get PPP and other pandemic relief. Sharing this needed info in a sincere manner caught the attention of many, and now my YouTube channel has over 84,000 subscribers and 7 million views! I’ve continued to share videos to share tax information to benefit small business owners. And I just am honored by the continued positive response.

My overall philosophy is to look for a win-win in each situation, so the best outcome is achieved for all those involved.

Thankful to be a CPA, as it made it all possible!

The CPA Firm provides tax preparation services to individuals who are looking for an expert to prepare their returns. This business is an extension of Joshua Jenson, CPA, P.C. & Associates. With a separate company to solely focus on non-business tax issues, we believe this will allow for the service time to be in more real time during tax season for those looking for expertise in the tax world, but would like to get it off their to do list sooner rather than later.
