I now get to do this FULL TIME since I’ve launched my own company, Badeau Consulting - WHAT A GIFT! I provide emotional intelligence (EQ) based coaching, speaking engagements, leadership course facilitation, and consulting in the organizational structure and learning and development space.

Prior to launching my own company, I obtained my CPA, CGMA, and MBA and served in a variety of roles focused on coaching, cultivating high performing teams, and developing my business acumen. I spent over 6 years in public accounting leading the firm’s audit training, career counseling various staff, and assisting clients with business enhancement projects across 5 industries. I also worked at a global public manufacturing and retail company for over 8 years in 4 different roles including Controllership and Internal Audit leading various talent management strategic initiatives, providing coaching and mentoring to over 25 people, and serving as a business risk advisor to many. I had a front row seat to many of my mentee’s development into Controllers, Directors, Senior Managers, and Leaders within various companies. The fundamental principle to all my conversations has been based on EQ, an area which I obtained my Certification as well.

Building on my love of leadership, I obtained my Development Dimensions International (DDI) Facilitator Certification. DDI prepares current and future leaders for challenges of complex, ever changing business environments through various learning and development courses and application. Leadership training participants have commented “[Jaclyn] brought practices to reality by injecting real world business scenarios into the classroom” and reflected they “can tell she truly cares about our development.”
As you can see, I found myself heavily leaning into coaching and leadership areas in the roles I had. This coupled with a desire to “run a company” led me to start Badeau Consulting in February 2020.

Presenters were great to listen to and kept your attention but I kept waiting for more information on HOW to build skills using EQ. There were good examples about how EQ is useful in business/leadership which I already agree with - I didn't need to be sold on the idea of EQ which is what this presentation was. A more appropriate title might be "Why You Should Use EQ to Help Build Leadership Skills."
