The Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) certification is for early-career and foundation-focused talent development professionals. APTD holders grasp the significance of effective talent development strategies and their alignment with organizational success and possess solid foundational knowledge.

APTD Professional Recertification Requirement Overview:

40 Points in 3 years.
No mandatory Ethics requirement.
APTD holders recertifying before April 30, 2024, need 15 points, focusing on the new topics in the Talent Development Capability Model.
100% in Self-Study.
The CPTD certification lasts three years from the day after passing the exam.
No carry forward allowed.
The certification must be renewed three (3) months (90 days) before expiration.
Courses must be from ATD-approved Providers.

Recertification Reporting Cycle :

The APTD certification is valid for three years, beginning the day after completing the examination.

Recertification Requirements :

40 recertification points within each three-year cycle to maintain their certification.

Ethics Requirements :

No ethics requirement.

Subject Area Requirements :

For credential holders recertifying before April 30, 2024, 15 points must be earned in the Continuing Education category from programs covering new topics in the Talent Development Capability Model.

Carry-Over Points :

Points may not be carried over from one recertification cycle to the next.
